Well, it's Friday I made it. I had a crappy night of sleep and I barely made it out of bed this morning. If it wasn't for my wife I don't think I would have made it out of bed. According to my watch, I got 5 hours of sleep but I don't believe it. It was one of those nights where I was watching the clock all night. I still managed to get myself out there and run 7 miles but it wasn't my best run. On my way back to the gym, I tried a slightly different route. I don't think today was the day to try new routes. On my way back after running through Bridle Trails, I took NE 29th, wow that steeper than I expected. I really dragged myself up that hill. I ended up walking up part of it, I just didn't have it in me to fight the hill. Maybe when I feel more rested I can try it again. Until next time.
I feel like I've been on a long road to arrive at this training point. Perhaps I should back up a bit and explain a little. I've been running off and on for years now. In January I decided to run the Vancouver Half Marathon, my buddy Manish brought it up one evening at dinner. I thought about it for a few minutes and agreed to do it. This could be fun. I also figured it would be a good personal goal. It feels like a long road to get to this point. Winter sucked, I really didn't like running in 20-degree temperatures, bur. Then I was sick with that terrible cold that was going around, that laid me up for a few weeks. But with the race coming up quick I laced up my shoes and got out there, a lot! I pushed myself every week to extend my runs farther and farther. I'm finally at a point where I can run 11.5 miles and not feel like I killed myself. I'm slightly sore after my big runs but not enough to bot...
